Amanda Fernie is an Orangutan Development and Training Specialist at Sungai Pengian Station in Sumatra’s Bukit Tigapuluh Ecosystem, Jambi, Indonesia. Her doctoral degree from The University of Queensland, Australia focused on great ape behaviour and welfare. Her research interests include primate behaviour, welfare and conservation.
